Globetrotters is an international English-speaking scouts troop with a mix of nationalities that meets in the outdoors on Saturday mornings in the Stockholm suburb of Danderyd. We have kids between the ages of 8-18 who attend international or bilingual school. What unites us across backgrounds and ages is our love for nature and outdoor adventures, as well as a curious mindset.
We are in the Danderyds Sea Scouts, part of the Roslagens scout district of the Swedish Scouts, and part of the World Scout Movement.
We regularly meet on Saturdays at 10:00 A.M at the Danderyds Sea Scouts Hut (Enebybergsvägen 1, Danderyd). Throughout the term, we learn new skills such as building shelters, cooking over an open fire, first aid and much more. We spend time outdoors exploring nature, learning about survival, and participating in challenges with friends. There are usually 1-2 overnight camps as well as a day hike each term. We sometimes participate in national and international Jamborees.
The first few meetings of each term are open to new scouts. Check the calendar and show up at the scout hut. After that, scouts can register at Danderyds Sea Scouts, including 'Globetrotters' in the comment section (600 kr per term).
Parents and guardians are welcomed and encouraged to join as scout leaders or to help organize in other ways. To do so, they may also register at Danderyds Sea Scouts, including 'Globetrotters ledare' in the comment section (100 kr per term).
